About Us
SynJon Books was founded as a retirement project in 1975 by the late S. John Teague, Librarian Emeritus of the City University, London, in order to provide a focus on books that would be of interest to local, family and military historians.
The four Kent village histories, "Borden", "Bredgar", "Hollingbourne", and "Tunstall" have proved "must haves" for past and present residents, whilst emigrants to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and America have shown particular interest in the related volumes "Farewell to Kent", "Life in the Workhouse", and "Louisa Thomas of Hollingbourne (the journal of a Victorian Lady)".
Each publication is carefully researched, and consequently are purchased by students of social and local history as well as being enjoyed by leisure readers.
